Jill has been involved in hospice palliative care since starting her career in 1993 as a child life specialist in pediatric oncology at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Through her work at Hospice Calgary and The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta Jill has spent close to 25 years supporting families and dying patients through their journey of living with a life threatening illness, end of life care and bereavement. Along with the clinical psychosocial support of the dying and their families, Jill has been actively involved in the development and implementation of hospice palliative care and bereavement programs across Alberta and British Columbia. In May 2012 she moved to Vancouver Island with her young family to take on the new role of regional Manager of End of Life Care for Island Health. She holds a graduate degree in counseling psychology, and has a keen interest making visible and supporting the needs of family caregivers.
