Kara Schick Makaroff is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Her research focus is on quality of life for people living with chronic and life-threatening illness, particularly chronic kidney disease. Her research interests also include ethics, mixed methods research, and electronic capture of research data. Her funding is from KRESCENT (Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training), a program developed and supported by CIHR, Kidney Foundation of Canada, and Canadian Society of Nephrology.
