iPANEL Co-Leader - Kelli Stajduhar - was recently announced one of the 2014 CRNBC Excellence in Nursing Research Award recipients.

Kelli started out her healthcare career as a nurse in the freezing region of Canada known as Winterpeg... oops I mean Winnipeg:)

While she greatly enjoyed her time as a front line nurse - she also recognized the moral distress felt by some of her colleagues when caring for palliative patients.  This sparked a desire for further education so that she might help bring about practice change in such a way as to improve the care for patients but also reduce the moral distress of nursing staff.  Eventually this spark drove her to pursue an academic career in applied nursing research.

While her research has spanned a few different patient populations - improving end of life care has always been at the forefront.  Her work speaks to her desire to support patients, family caregivers, and nursing staff.

Congratulations Kelli from all of us here at iPANEL on this amazing and very well deserved award.  Click HERE to view the other recipients of the 2014 CRNBC Nursing Excellence Awards.
