PatPorterfield 1752013 CRNBC - Distinction in Nursing Award Recipient

iPANEL Co-Investigator - Patricia Porterfield - was recently announced one of the 2013 CRNBC Distinction in Nursing Award recipients.

Pat started nursing in 1970, when she received her BSN from the University of Alberta.  Since then she has led a long and inspiring carreer as a nurse in the province of BC.  After retiring in June of 2012, from her position as Regional Leader of Palliative Care for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, she continues to be a strong voice and leader within the iPANEL Team.  Always willing to listen, yet able to mediate when necessary, Pat has shown us what wisdom and years of front line experience can bring to research.

"Pat was a clinical nurse specialist in palliative care for over a decade. She excelled in her capacity to support nurses and the interdisciplinary team to apply palliative philosophy to patient and family centered care… Pat’s clinical reputation for excellence in palliative and end of life care is outstanding and recognized across all disciplines." - Nursing Colleague - Barb Eddy, MN, NP(F)

Congratulations Pat from all of us here at iPANEL on this wonderful and well deserved award.  Click HERE to view the other recipients of the 2013 CRNBC Nursing Excellence Awards.
